Life has been really fast since I last wrote. Saturday's trip to Tribu de Jesus was a good one. We helped Pastor Von and Julian do a wash day and played with the kids. We had a large group of twenty from our church and UCSD. It was the first time this group served with us. It turned out to be a long day. We returned late but we had a lot of fun. One guy from UCSD ate 11 tacos at the taco shop! We also stopped by the ice cream shop. The best part of the whole day was that the kids were blessed and had a good time. We tried out a couple of new things. We have a new beauty chair that is fun for the girls to sit in when they have their nails and hair done. We also have a new "store" that sits on the tailgate of the truck that helps with the distribution of prizes. Both new items worked real well. The group did two skits that were a big hit with the kids.

The next day was Sunday. Brenda and I had the privilege of being a part of David Mazur's worship service. Their church is awesome for many reasons. They are very missions oriented and have great youth. There was a problem with the power at the church, and we had service with no power. It was great. It was a joy to share with the word with a this church. David and his friends have become faithful partners serving regularly in Mexico. They are planing three missions trips this summer. Please pray for God's blessings for the groups and those whom they serve.

On Monday Grandpa and I did several small jobs for the ministry. Brenda and I are taking Spanish classes again on Tuesday and Thursday nights. We are enjoying the class and learning to speak a little better. Today we also worked on several things for the ministry. One thing is Monumental....... We now have Sentri on the white van. This should reduce our border wait from 1.5 - 2 hours to about 30 minutes or less. What a joy! Thank you Lord! And thank you Clairemont Emmanuel and Eloy for allowing us to use the church van.

Wednesday morning discipleship was a good time. The group went to breakfast together. We will be starting a new series next week. Please pray that all of us will grow in Christ as we study the Word together.

Tomorrow will be a wash day at Pipila. We are expecting a lot of rain. It will most likely not be a normal wash day but we will still pass out vegetables to the community.

We have a need for boys clothes. We are running out of them a lot. If you have any to give we would appreciate it.

Camp is coming in the beginning of May and we are going to take a trip down to the campground on Tuesday to begin work on the stage and props. Please begin to pray with us that God will open the hearts of the kids. Camp is a great time for God to work in the lives of these boys. Last year five kids made decisions for Christ.

We are beginning to work on our stuff for Spirit West Coast. This event is at the end of May and there will be a lot work as we prepare for this opportunity. Please keep us in prayer for this event.

Chau for now.

Meircoles 17

Our Saturday plans are set. We will have a large group of 20 people going to the orphanage, Tribu de Jesus. We will be doing a wash day and a play day. The kids are out of school and are bored. They will really be ready for us to bring some joy to their world. We also will have a lot of work to do.

It has been a real joy to hear from some of you that we met at the Ministry Fair. I look forward to serving with you in the future. Tomorrow we will be going down for a wash day. I look forward to a good day of service. In the evening, I'm off to Spanish Class.

You guys have donated five sewing machines so far for the Aids Orphanage. This is so cool! I will post a note on projects to let you know what we are doing with them. Thanks for your support.

Missions Fair

We had a great time at the Missions Fair on Friday night. The speaker was great. He spoke on the time Jesus sent out the seventy. We had a great meal that was prepared by David Mazur's parents and friends. They came down from Sacramento to support this event. We were able to make several new friends who would like to minister with us. It is great to visit with others of like mind when it comes to Missions.

We had a great trip to Tijuana on Saturday. We did a wash day at Ejido. Brian and Sara Dick joined us as did several students from UCSD and a friend Martha from Morena Valley. These guys are all old hands and know what to do and work very hard. It was a blessing to serve the people in Ejido. We stopped by the new site for Tribu de Jesus. A lot of progress has been made to make the place more livable for the kids. We will be taking a crew down to Tribu next Saturday to play with the Kids.

Tomorrow Grandpa and I will be shoping for Mexico and working on Pastor Vons vehicle. We will be having Club on Monday night. Please pray for the kids as the work on their memory verses.

Today was a washday. This morning I helped get things ready for going south. I checked out a few vehicle issues and picked up some building materials for a house build. Tonight was Spanish class. Please pray for Brenda and me as we study Spanish. Tomorrow will be a hectic day. We meet at the shed at 4:45 am to go to the airport. Grandpa and I will be getting ready for tomorrow's Mission Fair at UCSD. We hope to deal with a few car issues and roof the new towel closet. I read a cool verse today, "Turn both your pockets and your hearts inside and out give generously to the poor; then your lives will be clean," Luke 11:41 (The Message).

Miercoles

We normally have a discipleship meeting on Wednesday at 7:00 am at the dorm in Tijuana. Aaron and I meet with Chuey and Tomas. They have been Christians for about nine months or so. We have been studying the book of John. It is a real joy to see their enthusiasm for the Lord.
Chuey's brother had a stroke yesterday and is in the hospital. Please pray for Chuey and his family. Pray that Chuey will be able to share his faith with the family and be a good example of how to live through a stressful time. Pray for his brother's recovery and for the needed finances. Also pray that Chuey will find full time employment.

We are getting everything together for the Missions Fair on Friday at UCSD. Please pray for the students that they will be challenged to serve in missions.

We are excited to have a generator to bring to Tribu de Jesus to run some lights. They are moving to a new location that, as of now, has no electricity or water. The repairs on the building are coming along well. God is providing a lot of people to help with the repairs. There are many needs. I will have an article soon on the web site about the new digs. Currently they provide a home for 75 to 100 kids. Please pray for Edith, the director of the orphanage, for God's wisdom in this new adventure.

Great Day

Today was a great day. Grandpa and I took Jerry and Sherry to Tijuana today. They are visiting from Iowa. We went to the Dorm and visited Tribu de Jesus. Tribu de Jesus is an orphanage that is home for between 75 to 100 kids. They are moving to a new facility. Things are coming along well but there is a lot of work to be done. There is a need for electricity and plumbing. We host a trip to visit this orphanage once a month. We play with the kids and hold the babies. It is a lot of fun. There is a lot of need there. If you or your group would like to come serve with us here please email me dave@bajadave.org . We visited a neighborhood that we work in called Ejido. We stopped and had a shrimp taco. After returning the group to the States I returned for our Monday night Bible Club. We had a great time. There were a lot of kids there tonight and boy were the amped up. The kids enjoyed singing and did really well on their memory verse tonight. I am looking forward to the Missions fair on Friday. Let me know if you would like to go.
